How it works

The technology behind Aquapel has been innovated from the aviation industry.
Aquapel Glass Treatment forms a chemical bond with the glass, making it water-repellent. The rainwater forms droplets. As a result, it can be wiped off the glass much more easily by the windshield wipers.
Dirt and water have no grip on your windshield.

Aquapel is a fluorinated compound that can be applied to a clean, dry windshield or other glass surface in minutes and lasts up to 6 times longer than silicone-based products.
In addition, Aquapel Glass Treatment remains very effective for months under normal use, including heavy rain and snow, car washes, glass cleaning and salt spray.

Using Aquapel

Aquapel® Glass Treatment is developed by PPG Industries, leaders in glass technology.
When applied to a vehicle's windshield, this innovative product improves visibility in the rain, day and night. Aquapel forms a chemical bond with glass, unlike other products that simply cover glass.
As a result, Aquapel can last up to 6 times longer than other products. One application can remain effective for months!

Have it applied

You can order the product from Tesland and have us apply it to the windshield of your Tesla Model S or X. When ordering, choose the installation option and we will make an appointment with you to apply the Aquapel in our workshop in Almere.

For those who prefer to do it themselves, the directions are below.

Directions:

• Step 1: Cleaning: Thoroughly clean the windshield and dry the glass.
• Step 2: Application: Hold the applicator between your thumb and fingers with the sponge facing down and just above the windshield. Squeeze the tabs together until you hear a click. This releases the liquid onto the sponge. Use immediately.
  Wipe the soft sponge of the applicator up and down over the windshield from left to right to ensure the glass is well covered.
  Avoid painted surfaces. Remove liquid from non-glass surfaces with a dry paper towel.
• Step 3: Drying: Immediately wipe the windshield with a clean dry paper towel after applying Aquapel to the entire windshield. Discard the applicator and paper towel.

Failure to wipe dry immediately may cause contamination that requires additional polishing with a clean dry paper towel.

Note: One single-use applicator, enough to treat one windshield.

• Do not allow Aquapel to air dry on the windshield.
• When applying to large surfaces, treat in halves at a time.
• Application conditions: Do not use in temperatures below 10º C and warmer than 32º C or in extremely humid conditions.
• After application, Aquapel® Glass Treatment can be reapplied if necessary.
• Cleaning glass with ordinary glass cleaners has no effect on effectiveness and durability.
