Tesla Brake Cleaning and Lubrication
Description
Tesla Brake Cleaning and Lubrication
Electric cars primarily brake using the motor (regenerative braking). This is comfortable and economical, but it has a disadvantage: the mechanical brakes are used too little.
Brake pads and calipers do not often wear out on a Tesla, but they often seize.
Rust, dirt, and seized guide pins then cause:
the brakes to rust, squeak, or grind
the car to brake unevenly
brake pads to wear unevenly
this can lead to rejection at the MOT
At Tesland, we disassemble the brake calipers, thoroughly clean everything, and lubricate the moving parts with heat-resistant brake grease. This keeps the brakes running smoothly and prevents expensive repairs such as seized brake calipers or warped discs.
Advice: brake firmly once a week from 80-100 km/h back to almost standstill and have our brake cleaning and lubrication performed every 1 to 2 years, even if the car drives few kilometers.
A small service that can prevent high costs.
